  • 1 large onion (sliced thin)
  • ½ cup quick cooking oatmeal
  • 1 1/3 cups beef broth
  • 1 ounce onion soup mix (1 packet)
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 6 slices provolone cheese
  • 6 buns

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, sauté ground beef and sliced onion over medium heat until browned. Drain excess grease.
  2. Transfer the meat and onion mixture to a slow cooker. Add oatmeal, beef broth, onion soup mix, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and black pepper. Stir to combine.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 3–4 hours to meld flavors.
  4. About five minutes before serving, place provolone cheese on top to melt.
  5. Serve generously on brioche or slider buns.
